A man who missed bail appearance has been sentenced to Luzira

A young man who was given a court warrant and disappeared has been arrested by one of his bail bondsmen and is now behind bars in Luzira.
Jackson Tumukunde was granted bail by the Nateete Lubaga Magistrate’s Court in Mengo on of embezzling funds from Sibyangu’s milk company in Kyankwazi but later
and he disappeared.
He allegedly worked as a manager at the company but lost 7,816 liters of milk worth R8.5 million between July and August 2023. In his testimony, the company’s auditor, Benjamin Ogema, told Judge Adams Byarugaba that Tumukunde was given the responsibility of collecting milk from farmers e Kyankwazi as he sent them to Kampala but he became a squirrel eating his squirrels and started going around without his employers knowing.
It was discovered that he also took the fuel given to him to transport the milk and when he was arrested he had just stolen UGX 1.2M


In court, Tumukunde told the judge that he was being tied up with goat ears to feed Ngo and said his employers were very difficult, he owed them salary but when he came to Kampala he was arrested without any reason.
He asked the court to release him on bail but the judge reminded him that once he was first granted bail he became a Kanyanya musu and to get him back they first arrested one of his bail bondsmen and threw his application in the trash. Court Resumes April 2,
